Waratah or Telopea speciosissima is a well-known Australian flower belonging to the proteaceae family. The waratah is a vivid red shrub like flower, with its pettles curving inwards to give it a dome like shape, with leafs on the bottom
The waratah grows in tropical or sub-tropical climates, such as Queensland and some parts of NSW. The Waratah is a type of shrub called a shout that can grow to 4 metres high and have a flower diameter of anywhere between 7-10 cm. It flowers between September to November where weather isn’t too harsh, as Australian summers can be. |
